On the Thursday after the workshop we had a short discussion on potential projects that we can work on as a group (or small committee) with the assumption that one or two could be included as exercises during the next training. I thought it would be good to share the list of potential projects here and have a subsequent discussion on data needs for and feasibility of these projects.
From my notes I have the following proposals:
Suitability/Impact of Road to Nassau Gebergte
Suitability for Sustainable Forest Management
Brokopondo/Brownsweg (group 1's presentation)
Suitability for Oil Palm (and Sugar Cane for ethanol)
Urban Growth Model (and suitability for another city)
Indigenous/Marroon Land Rights

On another note, I would like to invite any interested SPS-ers to become blog administrative. This means that people other than myself can create blog posts and manage comments. If you have information and ideas you'd like to share, in English or Dutch, please let me know. Not everyone at the same time ...
